Does the global crisis affect family quarrels? Is daily coexistence, free from conflict, possible? Curated by Jadwiga Majewska the 5th International Contemporary Dance Festival KRoki (12-21 May), under the banner Conflicted?, explores the complex issues around the subject. Using movement and their own bodies, choreographers and dancers from Israel, Ukraine, Egypt, Argentina, Poland and Germany have been invited to present their work at KRoki festival in an attempt to answer some of these questions on the stage of the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre and Małopolska Garden of Arts. Constanza Macras – DorkyPark is one of guest companies of the KRoki 2017 program.
On 14th May 2017, the International Contemporary Dance Festival KRoki presents at the Małopolska Garden of Arts in Krakow a video screening of ”The Past” a piece by Constanza Macras – Dorky Park & Oscar Bianchi which was premiered at the Schaubühne Berlin in 2014. Later in the evening the festival presents the Polish premiere of Electrodomestics, a dance, talk show, music and cooking performance by Adham Hafez and Constanza Macras, resulting from a co-production NPN Nationales Performance Netz (DE) and KRoki – Contemporary Dance Festival / Juliusz Słowacki Theatre (PL). Additionally on the 15th May 2017 the festival also offers a dance workshop led by Sonia Levin – Dorky Park.
