Constanza Macras | Dorkypark, 21 children and youth from 5 years to 22 years from the Hillbrow Theatre Project are in process to create a dance work, Hillbrowfication. The work explores a Hillbrow of the future – to challenge and inspire the young cast to reimagine their neighbourhood and to develop material based on their perceptions and experiences of xenophobia and violence in the city.
Hillbrowfication, directed by Constanza Macras and co-choreographed by Lisi Estarás, premieres at the Hillbrow Theatre, 9th and 10th March 2018, as part of the 30th anniversary of the Dance Umbrella Festival and will then perform at the Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin in mid-2018.
